In Paris in the 1970s, Alice Schwarzer realised her dream of becoming a journalist. A committed feminist, she joined the Women's Liberation Movement (MLF). But on her return to Germany, she ran the risk of becoming unpopular nationwide, including within her own movement, even putting her reputation as a journalist on the line. However, nothing weakened her determination. Defying all opposition, she founded the magazine EMMA and succeeded in combining journalism and activism.
